Touches are different types. Some please us, some relax us and some annoy us. Our skin is not trained to classify each touches and so it sends each and every touch message to mind. Our all sense organ sends the message the same way. Thus the mind starts processing each message without considering its usefulness.

Sometimes we received a touch which has no meaning but since those touches are uninvited, so annoy us. e.g a push in a crowd. we do annoy because that was a worthless message which should not be introduced. Every introduction takes attention and so, if not of use, creates a disturbance in concentration.

Sometimes we received a touch which is unexpected and alien but was already demanded by the mind. e.g. a cool breeze in too dry weather. And sometimes we receive a touch we have planned for and already expecting it. e.g. a beloved's touch or mother's touch.

This level helps you to control the reactions to different touches and teaches to take those touches as gifts. When someone gifts you, you smile and you take that gift to understand what the use of that gift is. If the gift is of no use, you just trash it away. but never react to the gift giver.

At this level, two different therapists, one having more experience than the other, perform the touches in a collaboratively and rhythmic way. Practitioners give multiple touches on the body, and the mind through the skin is concentrating on those touches to understand those messages. This is called sparshSadhna. By understanding those messages, Skin starts handling the messages to arrange in a sequential way for prioritising, then conveying the same to the mind.

After learning to understand the touches, in the next level mind learns the processing of messages.
